J‑Kwon is a rapper from St. Louis, Missouri, best known for his 2004 hit “Tipsy,” which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 while he was still a teenager.

He gained attention through rap battles and was eventually signed to Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def label. His debut album Hood Hop (2004), produced largely by the Track Boyz, went platinum and established him in hip‑hop.

He later released independent projects and has remained active in music, including the 2013 diss track “Pushing the Odds.”

He is performing at Tacos and Tequila Festival Milwaukee 2026 on May 30.
